Recently on the previous release, the beta test firmware accidentally appeared on ASUS website, but after some time, it has removed with a clear clarification that the update which was published was only for Beta testers.

This time Asus has official released Official Full Firmware Android Marshmallow ASUS ZenFone 2, in every users are now invited to upgrade to Marshmallow with Android Version 6.0

Well its still not a great news as few days back Google has announced Android 7 Nougat, and yet Asus is still upgrading to Android Marshmallow, stills is a good news that Asus Zenfone 2 users are getting this new updates on their devices which is almost 2 years old from the first release now.

• APP2SD not supported in M. Please backup before the upgrade.
• Adjust pre-load app after update to Android M
• Multi-user and SnapView will not be supported. If you wish to continue to use multi-user, please keep using current account
• Remove Asus Email, Asus Calendar, Asus Messaging, Asus Browser and Asus Music after Factory Reset. You could use Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Messenger, Chrome and Google Play Music for relevant services

Steps How to Update Asus Zenfone 2 to Android Marshmallow:

• Check software version of your device**
• Download device software and Update SOP (From “Manual” Item)
• Only apply to same SKU update, Example: WW->WW, CN->CN, .
• The software update cannot transfer the software SKU and downgrade the software version.
• Wrong SKU may cause update failure, please update the same SKU version only.

**How to know the device software version?

• Path: Settings->About-> Software information->Build number
